Dr. Daniel Caraway, DC was born in Fairbanks, Alaska and grew up in rural Texas on a farm with chickens, goats, pigs, cows and lots of hay to haul. His work ethic was born here and carried him thru his college years where he graduated from Texas State University with a BS in Applied Sociology. He then enlisted in the Navy, where he deployed on several aircraft carriers until he was selected for a position as a Special Operations Parachute Rigger. While serving in this role, he experienced multiple traumas from parachuting operations and was faced with the options of surgery or medications. Rather than settle for either of these options, Dr Daniel, DC (PR1AW/SW/EXW at the time) pushed for physical therapy and chiropractic care, and ultimately found the healing capabilities of manual therapy and adjustments.

After his decorated Naval career, Dr Daniel, DC followed his calling to be a natural, non-pharmacological based healer and enrolled in the Doctor of Chiropractic program at Texas Chiropractic College in Pasadena, TX. Fast forward 3.5 years and he began working as an associate doctor at a high volume, insurance-based clinic. His dedication to his patient's personal needs broke the paradigm, and circumstances quickly elevated him to Lead Doctor in the Waco Tx branch. Ultimately his differences in opinion about treatment protocols and rejection of insurance and lawyer dictated care led him to amicably depart the clinic in order to pursue his dream of being unburdened from the "big box" style of chiropractic where speed was more important than care.

He and his wife, Skylar, purchased the decommissioned fire station (Station 3) in historic East Waco and have put their hands deep into the work of renovating it into a space that is inviting to all walks of life. While in the Navy, Dr. Daniel, DC was stationed in Japan, Germany, Guam, Norway, Italy, and Korea, and spent time in many more countries where he often chose to spend his time in port volunteering with locals. His experiences across the world, and his time spent in the service industry (bartending and waiting tables) gave him an EXTREME appreciation and carnal understanding of people. He prides himself in his humble approach, his ability to relate, and his genuine gratitude for people who trust him with their care, their family members care, and the recommendations to their friends.

 

If (big if) you find Dr Daniel, DC not at work, he and Skylar along with their daughter, Lilah will probably be at a farmers market buying dog treats for their 3 dogs or a big bucket of lemonade. Or maybe kayaking or hiking around Lake Waco with friends. There is also a high probability that you could catch them at a classic car show, appreciating American art on wheels. Wherever you find him and Skylar, you will be greeted with a smile and a hug (if you're good with that).
